If ever there was a chocolate box village setting for a wedding this is it. Having grown up in the neighbouring village on the Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire border I didn’t quite appreciate the beauty of this special place until I was a lot older and had moved away. It has just one main street lined with thatched houses, a great local pub and restaurant, and that is it! The Falcon pub and restaurant is a regular wedding reception venue for couples in which to hold their wedding reception after their church wedding and there is also really nice B&B in the village where you can stay too – Castle Farm Guest House. I’ve photographed and filmed many weddings at all these venues and I can honestly say that weddings in Fotheringhay are always a very special event for me.
If you are a regular to my blog you’ll know I often declare wedding venues as my favourite but never before have I had such a favourite church. Well, this is it, and it has become my most favoured church wedding venue for many reasons. Not least because it is a beautiful setting and a handsome church, but also because inside there is so much light and room that it’s a real pleasure to photograph and video weddings here. There is a beautiful walk from the road to the entrance which is framed by trees which always makes for stunning shots of the bride arriving at the church or the happy couple leaving. And there is even enough space just outside the entrance for your formal groups as long as you don;t have very large families. As a wedding videographer or photographer you couldn’t ask for anything more.
Brian the Vicar
Brian and I go way back as he is also the resident Vicar at Warmington church where I grew up. He is such a nice person and a dedicated Vicar, and he has always treated me, the couple, and the guest with such fondness. It’s very easy to feel comfortable in his presence and any couple who choose to get married at Fotheringhay or Warmington church are lucky to have such a gentleman running the show. He has a natural ability to balance the formal accession with relaxed humour. I alway s look forward to seeing him again. If you are searching for a videographer or photographer with experience of any Fotheringhay venues including Fotheringhay Church Weddings please give me a call or send an email. I’d love to hear more about your wedding plans and how we can help you.
